Built by Tom Virgona, the Star Theatre opened on 30th April, 1952 with two Fox films - “Inferno” screened in 3D, and “City of Bad Men”.
An unusual feature for its time was the stadium seating for the back stalls. The Star Theatre closed on 20th November 1962 with Disney’s “The Moonspinners”.

The Star was made into St. Christopher’s Catholic Church who did a good job keeping the art deco exterior.
credit goes to Joe Simiana for his interest in and knowledge of the Star twins.
Closed on 20/11/1965. Still in use as a church.
