Timeline for the Liberty Theatre from the Humboldt Standard:
April 4, 1907: Opened as the Empire Theatre.
January 1, 1919: Became the Orpheum/Orpheus Theatre.
1930: Became the Liberty Theatre.
July 9, 1953: Closed.
August 15, 1958: Demolition began.
The Eureka Humboldt Standard, August 16, 1958, ran a story on the Liberty Theatre being torn. Included was its history, with added photographs. The Theater was built by Julius Vasant and was previously known as the Empire, Orpheum and Orpheus Theatres.
George Mann who changed the name to the Orpheum/Orpheus and later the Liberty when he bought a marquee with the Liberty name on it.
