This is the second theater they did this at. There was a different story last night on WNT. AMC SUCKS.

The name of the street it’s on is Fire Tower Rd. I’m assuming the street once lead to the town’s fire tower.
Why the nane Fure Tower?
Now AMC Fire Tower 12.
From the AMC website: AMC has announced that the Carmike 12 in Greenville, NC, will be rebranded as the AMC Fire Tower 12 as of April 2017 (no exact date given). This name change coincides with both the renovation of this theater and a reorganization of AMC’s brand structure. The Carmike and Loews banners will disappear (along with any other non-AMC brands), with three AMC brands being used instead: AMC, for the newer, larger multiplexes; AMC Dine-In, for the restaurant-service locations; and AMC Classic, for older, smaller theaters (such as older Carmike locations in small towns).
Now owned by AMC; will continue to operate under the Carmike 12 banner for the immediate future (may possibly rebrand to AMC later on). Bargain Tuesdays and the popcorn bucket refills will continue throughout 2017.
Carmike 12 is currently being remodeled with full leather reclining seats and other amenities.
Back in early January 2015 there were rumors that the Carmike 12 would be closed for renovations making it into a dine-in cinema. The rumors, first reported by a local TV station, turned out to be false. There are currently no plans for any major renovations to the Carmike 12; it will continue to operate as usual. Regal’s Greenville Grande 14 has nothing to fear from this multiplex, as they (Regal) have the newer and better facilities.
Apparently this theater is sinking to grindhouse-level conditions, just as its predecessor the Plaza Cinema did. (The last film I saw here was, appropriately, “Grindhouse”.) It’s time to either go to second-run films at $2 admission, remodel this theater as a 16-screen all-stadium complex (something that was mentioned in the local newspaper during the construction of this theater), or shut it down and let Regal have a monopoly for a change.
The bathrooms are very, very foul smelling.
