The Larry H. Miller Group opened its 14-screen, 3,400 seat Utah Megaplex on October 14, 2011. The Salt Lake Tribune said that its 600-seat IMAX auditorium boasts one of largest IMAX screens in North America. The cinema has every amenity that all of the Larry H. Miller Megaplex Theatres patrons are accustomed to. This now gives the LHM Group a total of 86 screens in Utah. Owner, Gail Miller said that it is a standing rule that each auditorium floor will be vacuumed and mopped after each screening. Its closest competition, a Cinemark in Farmington, is only six miles away

“One of the largest IMAX screens in North America” is being pretty generous. It’s not even in the top 30 and it’s an IMAX Digital screen without the ability to play full-height IMAX movies. It’s much bigger than most IMAX Digital screens, yes, largely because it was purpose-built. But it’s still not what most would call “real IMAX.”
