According to a front page advertisement published by The Kung Sheung Daily News on 7th February, 1937, the Chung Shan Theatre was in business showing Cantonese films. Chung Shan is the Cantonese pronunciation of its Chinese name, literally meaning “in the middle of a mountain”. Chung Shan as a district near Macau, is also the birth place of the Founder of the Republic of China, Dr. Sun Yat-San. The exact English name of the theatre if any is unavailable. Its opening and closing date and number of seats is pending further research.
