Edwards Theatres opened the Long Beach Stadium 26 in time for the 1999 summer movie season. It is part of the larger Long Beach Town Center, which was built on the site of the old Naval Hospital, which closed in 1993. Since 2002 the theater has been part of Regal Entertainment Group.
