Theater has closed and now has bingo hall, poker and Players Nightclub.
Before Hoyts took over this location in the late nineties, it was owned by Canad and had been around for a long time. I saw Return of the Jedi here in 1983 when it was only a four screen theater. In 1985 or so the building was renovated and the five additional, smaller screens were added. I can’t find any information about Canad — or when the theater originally opened anywhere, unfortunately.
It is a casino. Blackjack, poker, roulette, etc. The food is nice, too. If you have clear enough memories of the Regal 9, you may find it really fascinating just walking around, and seeing just how they used each of the available spaces. https://filotimocasino.com/
The South Willow Street Cinemas started life as a quad, but opened slowly throughout July 1981. The first two screens opened on July 3, 1981, while the other two screens opened on July 17, 1981.
Four more screens were added in 1985 bringing a total to eight screens, and one more was added the following year bringing a total to nine.
