A short-lived 1970’s twin, located directly across Route 38 from the Moorestown Mall in the parking lot of the Korvettes (later K mart) shopping plaza. The Century 1 & 2 was opened on May 7, 1974. In 1975 it was renamed Moorestown 1 & 2. It was closed in 1982. Converted into a Silo appliance store, and later into a Pep Boys auto service facility.

Was this a Jerry Lewis cinema?
I knew Century had a Paramus Theatre but didn’t realize they had other Jersey locations.
Not a Jerry Lewis—this one was a little bigger than the JLCs. I don’t remember seeing any other Century theaters in South Jersey; this may have been a first venture into the market that was not successful and not repeated. The main local players in first-run indoor theaters in the area at this time were Sameric, GCC, RKO-SW, Milgrim and Budco.
thanks rick.
AKA:
MOORESTOWN 1 & 2
Open ~1975? Can anyone verify the exact dates?
Owned by Consolidated Theaters, Inc.
I see Regal Cinemas Moorestown 7 has an address of 400 Highway 38. Perhaps it’s the same theater and it’s just grown over the years?
More info and photos are always welcome.
The Regal theater is this one, which is across the highway inside the Moorestown Mall.
1st ad appeared in a newspaper from Camden on May 3rd, 1974 and renamed Moorestown 1 & 2 in 1975, and closed in 1982
