The Putnam Arts Lecture Hall is run by the Keene State Film Society. We choose and screen a variety of films for students and local residents to enjoy. Offering the lowest ticket prices around ($5 general admission, $4 seniors, $3.50 matinees and $2 for students), we offer the best bang for your movie-going buck.

We screen classics, indies, foreign, art house, and the occasional blockbuster.

I remember seeing “Alien” here in 70mm sometime in the early 90’s. I also remember that before the Putnam theater opened films used to be shown in Drenan Auditorium. I remember seeing the original “To Be or Not To Be” starring Jack Benny there

As of right now I know both the combo 35/70mm projector as well as the 16mm projector are not hooked up the the breaker system, and are therefore not in service. I’d really hate to see this place stop screening actual film altogether, as I’m almost certain no other theater in New Hampshire still projects film.
