Junction Arts Centre

Opened on 7th November 2009 and costing £2.45 million, the Junction is an award-winning steel and wood infill of a redundant market hall in the centre of the town. It was designed by the Henley Halebrown Rorrison practise and the main contractors were Houlton Ltd. It is the first cinema in the town for 30 years and also has a thriving programme of theatre, music and stand-up.

It seats 170, mainly on a steeply raked retractable bleacher, with the remaining seats in a small balcony on the same rake. Projection is 35mm, but the cinema is expected to go digital in 2011.

Also in the complex are offices for Goole Town Council (who part funded the scheme), rehearsal / hire rooms, and the Walkway Cafe Bar. Additional funding was made by East Riding Council, Arts Council England and Yorkshire Forward.
