One of the more conversely and late opening drive-in theatres was the Skyvue Drive-In. It opened on September 15, 1967, screening the 1967 war drama “Tobruk” featuring Rock Hudson, George Peppard, Guy Stockwell and Nigel Green. The second feature was “Easy Come, Easy Go” featuring Elvis Presley, Dodie Marshall and Pat Priest. It was opened by George Green Jr. with a capacity for 300-cars. He advertised it as a family theatre, and after the first six weeks of drawing only mosquitoes, he decided to screen adult movies. Green gradually started to screen X-Rated movies Monday through Thursday. General movies were then run on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The screenings went to X-Rated all week later on. Back in the 1960’s and 1970’s, these films were considered X-Rated, but would have been R-Rated in the 1980’s and 1990’s. Green was showing movies that depicted simulated sex on the screen. To ward off robbers, George had a 38 special strapped to his hip. Green said he was determined to keep the underage out. Green finally shut the Skyvue Drive-In on April 15, 1986. The airer was demolished and is now awater retention pond.

Must have opened or closed before 1956,not listed in the 1956 Motion Picture Almanac.
Roughly 386 Barnes Boulevard. The lot’s still intact with rows and everything, but no structures remain.
This was primarily and XX rated Drive In. I remember seeing “Flesh Gordon” here in 1974. Mostly soft core from what I had heard!
It looks like a great location for a open all year family drive-in.
Medley Construction is @ the entrance…452 Barnes Boulevard.
Unfortunately, it’s now a retention pond.
