Located on today’s trendy strip of Melrose Avenue. The Xanadu Theatre was a store front conversion which opened on April 16, 1971. By 1977 it was operating as a gay male adult theatre. In November 1984 there is an Adonis Theatre listed as operating as a gay male adult theatre, on the south side of Melrose Avenue between N. Gardner Street & La Brea Avenue (which could be the Xanadu Theatre).

Now returned to retail use, (in 2010) it is a funky clothing store named MunkeyKing snd by 2019 is Gallery 1988.
