The Lyric Theatre opened in 1913 in Faust, NY. It was heavily promoted with giveaways which included the usual dishes, as well as door prizes including fountain pens and a $5 gold piece. The theatre was sold and reopened on July 16, 1940 as the Adirondack Theatre. The new owner added a new marquee, new lobby and reupholstered the seats. The first feature in the remodeled theatre was "Young Tom Edison" starring Mickey Rooney.

In 1941 the town of Faust was absorbed into the town of Tupper Lake. The section of town that had been Faust is known as downtown Tupper Lake, or the junction.

The theatre continued to operate into the 1950’s. In 1959 the space was advertised for sale as "ideal for storage".
