Opened on July 27, 1950 with William Holden in “Dear Wife” & Brenda Joyce in “Shaggy”. The Tupper Lake Drive-In was located on New York Route 30 at the north end of the village of Tupper Lake. It also included a miniature golf course and a soft ice cream stand with fried chicken, pizza and submarine sandwiches.
Later known as Shaheen’s Drive-In, it closed in 1967 with Shirley MacLaine in “Gambit” & Howard Keel in “Gambit”. The land is now the headquarters for a construction company.

Could this Drive-in been known in the 50’s as the Tupper Drive-in?
What’s the name of the construction company so we can get the address, next time I go by I want to see the site of the drive-in?
It held 350 autos.
Anyone have more info or photos?
I did find some listings in the early 50’s and later in the 60’s that call this the Tupper Drive-In.
I’m not sure of the name of the company now on the site, but it is across the road from the Northwoods Cabins. It is on Route 30 about 1 mile north of the Sunmount facility.
More information here but it does not mention the name change.
This old Drive-In site tracks on Google Earth at this adress: 2804 NY-30, Tupper Lake, NY 12986. It is the current site of Kentile Excavating Inc. You will have to go to: www.historicaerials.com for the year 1953 to even see the drive-in.
