This festive scene captured “Theater Row” on West Seventh Street decorated with glittering lights during the Christmas season of 1952. Adding to the drama of this photograph are the prominent neon signs of the Hollywood and Worth theaters situated on either side of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram building. The Worth Theater, with its elaborate Egyptian-themed interiors, opened at 312 West Seventh in November 1927 as a venue for motion pictures and weekly stage productions. The Art Deco Hollywood, 408 West Seventh, opened as a movie theater in April 1930. The Worth theater closed in November 1971; the Hollywood in 1974. Fort Worth Star Telegram Collection.
