The 300-seat Gregg Theatre was opened on July 26, 1916. It was gutted by fire in early-1947. The Lee Theatre opened on June 3, 1947, operated by Columbia Basin Theaters chain. Like so many small theatres, ran five or six features a week like: "Black Beauty", “Two Smart People" and "The Oregon Trail".

Owned by Columbia Basin Theaters of Ephrata, Washington, John Lee, Owner, He had about 9 theaters in Washington.

This weblog post has a bit about Coulee City’s Lee Theatre. It was in a rebuilt building formerly called Gregg Hall (apparently a community center of some sort.) The entrance was on Third Street. Another page of the weblog has a note saying that that the Lee opened on June 13, 1947. The opening of the house was also noted in the July 5 issue of Boxoffice:
