The Lake-Shore Drive-In was located on Route 14 in Rochester, Indiana. It was opened in June 1953. In 1955 it was owned by the Alliance Theatre Corp. In the early-1960’s there was only a downtown theatre in Rochester so folks only had two places to catch a movie. Pretty good deal at the Lake-Shore Drive-In where adults were 50 cents and kids were free.

Boxoffice, July 11, 1953: “The new Lake Shore Drive-In opened recently with a capacity of 450 cars. The airer, located on a 6.7-acre tract, was built by Mr. and Mrs. Roy Abbott and their partner Robert Dyer of Martinsville. The Abbotts manage the ozoner.”
Topps Safety Apparel now has a factory on the site.
