Vintage Aerials has a 1977 photo of the Hi-Way 28 here.
nashville…can scan the pictures and post them.
I attended this drive-in from
61 until
66 than to Vietnam. I have several playbills from there and a take-up reel. My friend lived next door and work the concession. I have a couple photos but they are inside my car with the speakers outside. The screen may be gone?
The site is now ERS Auto Sales(writen on the original marquee sign?)!
had to sign up to find this place. i was looking for my old house to see if it still stands. sadly it is gone.i used to live next to this. and was there the day it shut down. used to set on my barn and watch movies. there was a playground next to my fence that i used to play on after they shut down :( there is also a history of horses running throw there drive lol. my horses broke lose one night after someone from that place was creeping around my barn. i can not believe i am looking at this place again :(
no sadly, No pictures that I know of just memories, I was born in 1964 so I was just a child
jimsdaughter….have any pictures to share?
My father worked as a guard at that drive in 1967-1978… I remember he would get there around 6:pm Me and my brothers and sisters would go to the playground and if we wanted to go fishing at the little pond next to the playground we got free drinks and popcorn because my dad working there we were only aloud to watch the first movie then we had to go to bed the next morning we would go with him to help clean up/pick up trash the drive in closed in 1987, In its day it was always full, as a child I would see the projection room with its great big reels.
Correction: Address number should be 1451.
Thanks again.
Also the square building on the property is in the identical spot the old projection and snack bar were. So more than likely it’s the same building today.
You can still make out the twin parallel driveways that led into and out of the drive-in.
It must have been a big Drive-in,Only the JOLLY ROGER DRIVE-in in Cincinnati had a larger ad in the Post. Thanks Silicon sam.
Around 1410 Hwy 28 was a pretty big sized drive in. Could be it… Right where Cincinnati Stair is now.
