The theater was built as the Park in 1913, sold in 1916 and renamed the Regent. It was located at 21-23 E. Washington Street. It operated through 1955. It was not destroyed by fire and the structure is still standing.

I uploaded the picture from a collection of old pictures and the marquee reads the Rough Riders. The Rough Riders was a series of 8 film released from 1941-1942. Picture was taken sometime then. No remarks were made on the photograph when it was taken.

The fire in 1949 ultimately helped the Penn Theater. Not only did they lose a competitor (REGENT) They gained badly needed parking space, directly across the street.This parking lot remained for the rest of “Penn Theater’s Days”
