275 East Theatre

Mid-States Theaters Inc. opened this multiplex December 7, 1979, their first new construction in some years. Initially a 4-screen theatre, newspaper advertisements promised that they would eventually add more screens and become a 12-plex, a most unusual concept at that time. However, the theatre never made that promised expansion - as the chain went through acquisitions by USA Cinemas and then Loews, it stayed four screens. When National Amusements took all the Loews screens in greater Cincinnati, this was finally closed in 2000.
The site is now home to Eastside Christian Church.

Loews 275 East??That sounds strange.

It’s called 275 East because it is located just off of the east branch of Interstate 275 which runs around Cincinnati. In fact, from looking at the Google Map referenced above, the back of this theatre was only 150 feet from I-275.
