The Vineland Cinema opened August 17, 1966, and served the Vineland, NJ area well for many years. It was twinned July 3, 1974, tripled in December 1978 and became a quad in 1987. It became so popular that the Landis Theatre closed in 1987 due to declining attendance because of the Vineland Cinemas.
During its lifetime, it screened such films as “Aliens”(1986), “The Color Purple”(1985), “Jaws”(1975;Record-breaking run), “Titanic”(1997), “Spiderman”(2001), Eddie Murphey’s “Raw”(1987), “Falling Down”(1987), “The Termimator” and “Terminator Two”(1984 and 1991). It was closed in 1999.
It reopened in 2000 as the USA Grandslam Cinema on May 3, 2000 which closed in early-2001. It reopened as the DeMarco Cinemas on December 18, 2001. However, due to the opening of the Regal Cumberland Mall 14 multiplex in 1998, its profits began to be eaten away at, and it closed around April 2007 with “The Hills Have Eyes Part 2”.

I think it is safe to say"JAWS" broke records everywhere,Steve.
Was this the Budco Vineland Twin during the 1970s? I ask because I notice the intro mentions a record run of “Jaws,” yet in my JAWS retrospective article I cite the Vineland booking as being at a “Vineland Twin” rather than a “Demarco Cinemas.” Is Demarco a later name, or is this a different theater?

The theater still stands. I visited just after the big storm that hit vineland in the summer of 2012. “The hills have eyes” still in the poster box outside. The last film too play. Someone maintains it.They brought part of the sign in from the storm and it looks likes some work was actively being done in the lobby.

A friend and I traveled to Vineland from Northern Virginia to visit the new Vineland Theatre as our former manager Mr. John Kane was their new manager. The new theatre was gorgeous, the presentation of “Torn Curtain” was flawless. I was jealous of the brand new projection equipment. Fast forward neatly 40 years. Now a field service tech I received a call from the DeMarco Cinemas. As I drove into the parking lot I realized this was the same theatre from 1966. I ended up replacing a part on one of the original projectors I marveled at once upon a time.
