Howell’s Drive-In was owned by L.L. Howell, so there is no surprise on the name. The Howell Drive-In was opened by 1950 and parked 280 cars. It was still open in 1967.

Yes it does Silicon Sam.
Parts of the Howell were still standing into the 80’s, but very overgrown. I never knew it to be operational going back into the 70’s.

Approx. address for this drive-in was 3430 Marietta Highway.
If you look on the map to the left of the bushy patch (across highway 5) there are 2 buildings, the one to the south is the Howell home which seems to have been abandoned in the 1980s but is still standing & not in bad shape considering (you can see the garage roof has collapsed in the aerial photo)
BTW this was open at least as far back as August, 1950 because I found a partial playbill with that date (playing Cagney’s G Men (1935), Tobacco Road (1941) & Johnny Stool Pigeon (1949) among others)
The remains of the ticket booth can be seen on Google Street view in August 2013, the entire site has now been redeveloped as a housing estate.
