Navy Point Theatre

Located in Warrington, near the Naval Air Training Centre, and not far from Pensacola. The Navy Point community of 750 homes was built in 1945 for the military families, and contained the Navy Point Theatre in the Community Center develoment in the center of the project, opposite Navy Point Triangle.

It opened in 1946 and was designed to the plans of architect Harry Pembleton, of Birmingham, Alabama. All seating was on a single floor. There was a cry room located next to the projection booth at second floor level.

Looking at a current street view map, the Navy Point Theatre has been demolished and the site used as a storage facility. The adjacent shopping center, built at the same time remains opposite the Navy Point Triangle Park.

THE Navy Point theatre was nothing extravagant but it was a fine place to go for 2nd-3rd runs and cheap. Especially in between pay days.
