The Rex Theatre opened its doors on May 27, 1942 with Bing Crosby’s “Birth Of The Blues” (unknown if extras added). The Rex Theater building actually housed something else before its opening.

Just speculating here but I think there was a original Rex theater in town and this is the sequel. Thus the “Rex 2”.

You are right Bob,nice little theatre, maybe to stop light is to get you to stop in.Kind of funky little house but looks like fun.

I went to the Website and clicked on the pictures, looks like a nice theater. Not sure about that stoplight on the front of the building, but it’s interesting.

I think I saw somewhere (I already forgot where) that it was a twin, that makes sense with a name like Rex II, but from the Website it looks like they only show one flick, anyone know what’s going on?

Would love to go to a theatre like that it would be like stepping back in time.I can’t stand all these stinking multiplexes.Worst thing that ever happened to “going to the Movie” not movies!!!
