The Capitol Theatre was open in 1925 with seating listed at 950. When it opened it was owned by S. Martin, with Mid-States Theaters Inc. taking over the theatre in 1964 thru its closing in the late-1970’s.
It has been modified and is in use as a Christian Life Center.

From the 1940s a postcard view of the Capitol Theatre in Asland.
The street address for the Capitol Theater should be 1628 Winchester Avenue. The postcard clearly shows the theater in the 1600 block of Winchester, not the 1100 block.
The building that housed the Capitol is still standing. It has been altered for use as a Christian Life Center.
