Opened in December 1913, the first movie theater in the Caribbean occupied the ground floor of this 400+ year old building located in the old San Juan historic arts district, is ready for renovation and reuse. Two additional floors are partially renovated and the potential for a fourth floor exists. By March 2025 it had been renovated to become part of a university.

Now part of a local university. It’s in good shape, and now painted white. There are windows cut into the large doors on the left, so you can see the old tile entry for the theater. The building was modified (probably during the theater conversion), and the very top of the roofline is art-nouveauish.
