The St. Maurice Theatre was opened by 1914 and was operated by Vic Howard. On April 12, 1936 it was renamed Town Theatre with seating listed at 650. The theatre was located on Saint Maurice Avenue at Douglas Street. The last operator was a Mr. Lombardo.
The theatre closed on May 31, 1952 with Maureen O'Hara in “Flame of Araby”. It was later demolished.

The St. Maurice Theatre, operating at least since 1914, became the Town Theatre on April 12, 1936. Last showing “Flameof Araby” May 31, 1952.
From “for sale” ads in 1950-51 it appears the Town’s owner was Mr. Lombardo. Vic Howard was the proprietor of the St. Maurice in 1914.
