The 2nd screen opened on March 30th, 1973, showing adult movies opening with “Deep Throat”, a move over from the Cina-Mini. Ad posted.

The building was originally built in 1885 per the Box Office article about the 1974 remodel linked below. So a theatre may not have been the original tenant, unless it was for stage plays or a hall of some kind.

Reopened as Columbia on September 9th, 1912, another ad posted.

This may have been opened as the Temple Theatre on March 1st, 1909. Ad posted.

It was renamed the Savoy Theatre by 1942.

A house called the Columbia Theatre is listed at 78-82 Market Avenue in the 1916 Grand Rapids City Directory.

From 1950 a view of the Savoy Theatre as it had looked since 1930 and from the same year a post restoration view of the Savoy in Grand Rapids.
