The Airport Drive-In was once called the Yellow Head Drive-In because it was located on the Yellow Head Highway in Neepawa, Manitoba. Neepawa is a native American word meaning “The Land Of Plenty”. Neepawa is also the capitol of the tulip flower in North America.
A twister once knocked over the drive-in movie screen in the 1980’s. The theater closed in 1980 and was demolished in 1985. Neepawa has a small independent airport located not too far from the now demolished drive-in which had room for over 350 cars.

This was listed as the Airline Drive-In in the 1963 IMPA. Operator at the time was Leon Asper. Capacity was 520 cars.
ken mc, I am doing research for a book I’m writing on Manitoba drive-ins. What is the IMPA? Where could I find one in my city? Could it tell me about all drive-ins that existed in Manitoba?
Thanks,
Tim
IMPA is the International Motion Picture Almanac. It lists drive-ins by year under location, owner and car capacity. You might be able to find one on eBay or alibris.com.
Ken & Lost memory; appreciate the info/thx
