News About This Theater
Located in Sadler Square Shopping Center. This quad cinema opened on Christmas Day, 2009. In April 2024 it was announced that the Our Town Cinemas would close at the end of the month.

I recently visited this new theatre in this quaint college town. Davidson NC used to have an old theatre, but it burned and now many years later the community, once again, as a first run movie house! Congrats!!
The correct address is 227 Griffith Street.
Our Town Cinemas was created in renovated retail space. The project was designed by Charlotte, NC, firm ADW Architects.
Joe: You are correct as I know one of the ADW architects, Bob Lauer. They did a wonderful job with bringing a cinema to Davidson NC after many years of not having a cinema in the quaint college town.
Previous retail space was a dollar store. Two theatres have 90 seats; two have 40. Seating is bistro style.
Theatre will close later this month due to rent increase by new strip mall owners. We’ve only lived here for two months but attended three times when they screened the OSCAR nominees and enjoyed the experience. Shame.
