Opened by Gulf States Theatres on August 13, 1969, the Showtown Twin Drive-In was the last new drive-in to be built in Baton Rouge and spent 6 years as the only outdoor outfit in the city after the closing of the Tiger Drive-In, in 1978.
The Showtown Twin Drive-In had a North and South Screen, and was consistently popular and open year-round. The theatre was still pulling patrons after the chain has stopped running it during early-1984, but it soon closed and was razed to make way for a Peterbilt truck lot.

This opened on August 13th, 1969. I have uploaded an USGS aerial and an grand opening ad here.
Above info is incorrect. Though very, very overgrown, most ramps are still there! From Google Maps, look northward to Crestwood Suites and you can make out the outline just west of the hotel.
It comes up correct on Bing but not Goggle maps. Like I have said sometimes Goggle maps are off.
I worked there I think it was 72.. Anyone know of others that worked there about that time. 71-73.
The correct address for this Drive-in is 11055 Airline Hwy, Baton Rouge, LA 70816. The Drive-in entrance and exit roads are occupied by the car dealership next door. Some ramps are still visible behind this address.
Please update.
Opened on 13/8/1969 on the north screen with “Mackenna’s gold” and “The Silencers”, and on the south screen with “Bullitt” and “Cool hand Luke”.
