The 350-seat Post Cinema was originally proposed to be a Jerry Lewis Cinema franchise, but it was opened by Brandt Theatres on July 11, 1973 with Ryan O'Neal in “Paper Moon”. It was closed on July 25, 1999 with Elayn J. Taylor in “The Wood”. Now a shopping plaza.

The Post was run by Brandt Theatres, then was sold at some point to Nutmeg, which became CinemaNational/USA Cinemas/Loews. Loews closed it around 1990. The theater was on the left side of the center, which is now Pompanoosic Mills Furniture.
Mentioned in a recent CT Post article on cinema memories. http://www.ctpost.com/default/article/The-Light-Touch-Cinemas-remember-reflections-1312676.php
Two investors started a cinema that likely was a Jerry Lewis Cinema franchise at one point in development. The 350-seat theater launched July 11, 1973 with “Paper Moon.” It was then shut down by the city. It had a relaunch with “Paper Moon” again. The theater owners eventually sold the property to more experienced operators.
Grand opening ad posted.
Closed July 26th, 1999
It was originally planned to open as a Jerry Lewis Cinema but instead opened by Brendt Theatres as the Post Cinema on July 11, 1973 with “Paper Moon” as a 350-seat single-screener. It was then briefly closed by the city, but then reopened again on July 26, 1973 with the same movie.
It was later operated by Nutmeg, then CinemaNational, then USA Cinemas, then Loews, then Sony Theatres, and finally Loews Cineplex before closing on July 25, 1999 with “The Wood”.
