The Herne Hill Picture Theatre was located in Arch number 1124, underneath the railway line on Norwood Road, Herne Hill, just to the south of Brixton. Plans for the cinema were drawn by noted theatre architect Frank Matcham. It was operating by 1911. The screen was at the entrance end of the building and all seating was on a single level. It continued to operate until at least 1915.
Today, the railway line is still in use and its supporting arches of course remain.
