The Azalea Theater was located next door to the Jefferson Theater. Built before the Jefferson Theater, it was used for live performances. My father worked at the Jefferson Theater in 1946-47 and states that he would often be sent to work to work at the Azalea Theater.
Early in it’s history it was apparently a live performance theater, but by 1941, it showed movies.
It was torn down in the early-1950’s
