The El Lago Theatre was a remodel of an old feed mill which opened May 21, 1935 with Al Jolson in “Go Into Your Dance”. It closed November 30, 1984.

The movie was “All of Me” starring Steve Martin & Lily Tomlin. The El Lago had opened on 5-15-1935 in a remodeled feed mill. The first movie was “Go Into your Dance” starring Al Jolson & Ruby Keeler. Rice Lake’s first air conditioned building!

The very first movie ad for the El Lago Theatre – Downtown Rice Lake. The first night was Tuesday 5-21-1935 & the movie was “Go Into Your Dance” starring Al Jolson & Ruby Keeler. The El Lago was the first building in Rice Lake with air conditioning.
