The Leola Theater was operating from around 1928 and was open until the late-1960’s. After closing it became a gymnastics school. It was demolished to provide additional parking space for the nearby Metropolitan State Bank. It holds so many wonderful memories for everyone who lived in South Minneapolis near Nokomis Jr. High.
The Roosevelt Sr. High, Class of 1962, Web site has a wealth of information about this wonderful little theater.
