Just about every remnant of the drive-in has been wiped out. Only pieces of the exit road remain.
All three screens were named Green, Yellow, and Red. The Northside closed on August 18, 1988 with the following: “The Rescue” and “Caddyshack II” in Green, “The Dead Pool” and “Bull Durham” in Yellow, and “Coming To America” and “Monkey Shines” in Red.
The Northside hosted a rock music festival on May 18, 1974, featuring such acts as RUSH, Dr John, Liverpool, the Skyhooks and The New York Dolls (who appeared but were not listed on the poster). A picture has been uploaded with the Festival’s Ad Poster. Terrible weather ruined the experience and resulted in very poor attendance.
Opened with “Santa Fe” and “Rookie fireman”. Opened as a triple on yellow screen with “Conan the destroyer” and “Tank”, and on the green screen with"Top secret" and “The Kentucky fried movie”, on the red screen with “Tender mercies” and “Terms of endearment”.
I Found A Drive-In Snipe From The Late 1960’s “Coming Soon” Snipe That Says “NORTHSIDE (TOS) DRIVE-IN.” I Do Not Know Where The TOS One Is? Either This Or One Other Northside Drive-Ins.
A closer address (at least for Google) is 14825 Old U.S. 27 Lansing, MI. Today, the property is empty with what appears to be a retention pond on the east side.
The only remnants of the drive-in remaining are the entrance/exit roads and general outline. http://tinyurl.com/zv5vzdn
