Northside Drive-In late-80's.

The Northside Drive-In opened August 29, 1952 with Randolph Scott in “Santa Fe”. The original owner was Leon Robbe. The drive-in opened as a single screen. On June 29, 1984 it became a triplex. It was later owned by Ashmum Theatres and finally by Mid-States Theaters Inc. until its closing in 1988. Car capacity was listed at 800.

A closer address (at least for Google) is 14825 Old U.S. 27 Lansing, MI. Today, the property is empty with what appears to be a retention pond on the east side.

The only remnants of the drive-in remaining are the entrance/exit roads and general outline. http://tinyurl.com/zv5vzdn

I Found A Drive-In Snipe From The Late 1960’s “Coming Soon” Snipe That Says “NORTHSIDE (TOS) DRIVE-IN.” I Do Not Know Where The TOS One Is? Either This Or One Other Northside Drive-Ins.

Opened with “Santa Fe” and “Rookie fireman”. Opened as a triple on yellow screen with “Conan the destroyer” and “Tank”, and on the green screen with"Top secret" and “The Kentucky fried movie”, on the red screen with “Tender mercies” and “Terms of endearment”.

The Northside hosted a rock music festival on May 18, 1974, featuring such acts as RUSH, Dr John, Liverpool, the Skyhooks and The New York Dolls (who appeared but were not listed on the poster). A picture has been uploaded with the Festival’s Ad Poster. Terrible weather ruined the experience and resulted in very poor attendance.
