The Rex Theater dates back to at least 1912. It was closed in the 1970’s. The building became home to an auto body repair shop. On June 26, 2024 it was badly damaged by a windstorm. The remains were demolished on August 31, 2024.

Boxoffice, Oct. 9, 1978: “The historic Rex Theatre in Nowata is being dismantled to make space for an office building, according to Leo Woodall who operates the Skyvue Drive-In there.”
Opened as early as 1912, closed in the 1970s.
