The Show Place Twin was located on Long Pond Road in Gate, NY. Just on the other side of the road from the (also) closed Central Drive-In.
Opening on January 21, 1972, it was originally constructed as a double theater and remained that way till it closed in 1977.
It is currently a U-Haul rental store.

I remember the only owner of the Theatre. He always loved movies and movie theatre’s. He had a home theatre in his cellar and dreamed of owning one and his dream came true. A great idea but was sucked up with larger theatres that came into Rochester. I loved going there.

Short-lived. The Showplace closed in 1977.
