Not to be confused with an earlier Pelican Theatre(1929-1961). This theatre was constructed in 1979 by Redwood Theatres. It was originally a four screen theatre with an island snackbar.
In 1989, Coming Attractions Theatres purchased this theatre.
In 1990 a new snackbar was installed and in 1992 two screens were added.
In 2001 a major renovation took place. Four new screens were added, the lobby was expanded and all theatres were changed to stadium seating.
