Opened in the 1920’s as the Majestic Cinema, in 1933 it became the Marigny Cinema with a speciality of second-run movies of all kinds. “La Maison du Maltais” was shown here, with the vamp of the time Viviane Romance starring. In 1950, it changed its name to Paris Cinema.
In the 1960’s, like the American Cine, it began to specialise in so called ‘Adult Movies’ and “Daniela by Night” with Elke Somer was an example of this type of film. Since the 1970’s it became an Adult X-Rated cinema and is still operating as such today, as one of the oldest cinemas in Brussels, re-named the New Paris Cinema. It was closed for two months in November/December 2008 for renovations, re-opening on 3rd January 2009 as the Cine Paris.

I think I read it is owned by the Marc Dorcel porn studio, and so shows a pretty exclusive diet of Dorcel films. That financial support helps it survive of course, and since the demise of the Cine ABC over the road it is much busier than it used to be. They have started having live sex acts once a week I believe.
The upstairs cinema was chained off this week, and there were no more “gangbangs” advertised. I wonder if there was any Police raids here?
my wife was once a stripper at the Cine Paris in the 1980s. it was ran by monsieur Scott: along with the ABC at the northern end of Adolph Max; the ABC Gent< and two cinemas in the same building in Antwerpen which was demolished in the 90s and a carpark was built in its place. as well as bringing the girls to the porn cinemas I was also performing live shows with my wife in the Babylon; Pigalle; Cameo: Paradise peepshows to name but a few. I used to drink in the bar across from the ABC cinema on Adolph max which was owned by a Vietnamese couple. but it is now a hotel. good memories.
While I was staying in a room above the cinema, next to Monsieur Scotts office, I used to visit Leonidas chocolate shop over the road: we used to get our shopping at the GB supermarket in City 2 shopping mall. cigarettes at a tobac shop near the ABC cinema and sometimes pop into ‘spectac du charme’ peepshow to see some secy girls. Ici Paris for my aftershave and my wifes perfume and make up. a hot waffle from the street vendors: ah the memories. I loved my time in Belgium and loved the friendliness of its people.
