Located in the east London district of Old Ford, close to the southern section of Victoria Park. The Electric Theatre opened in 1912 with 471 seats. In 1924 it was enlarged to the plans of architectural firm Andrews & Peascod, and now had seating for 407 in the stalls and 160 in the balcony.
In 1934 it was operated by the Victoria Park Picture Theatre Company, together with the Empire Cinema in Roman Road. It had been renamed Victoria Cinema, and was last operated by the owners of the Excelsior Cinema, Bethnal Green. It closed at the outbreak of World War II on 3rd September 1939, and never re-opened.
It was used as a storage warehouse into the 1950’s. In 1994, the building was heavily remodeled, and became a Jehovah’s Witness Meeting Hall.
