The Royal Theater was constructed in 1938. The main screen seats about 740 guests and claims to be the largest auditorium in the Netherlands based on seat-count. Two smaller auditoriums, named Rivoli and Maxim, have been added over the years.
The main auditorium featured modern projection and audio equipment like Dolby Digital EX. It was later equipped with DLP and 3D (RealD).
The Royal Theater was closed in August 2014.
