Previously operated by: AMC Theatres
Previous Names: AMC Chesterfield 14
Chesterfield Mall was renovated around the mid-2000’s. During this time, one brand new wing underwent a major overhaul. In March 2006, Westfield opened the changes in the new wing anchored by this 14 screen AMC theater which opened March 31, 2006.
The AMC Chesterfield 14 was the only theater nearby after Wehrenberg closed the Chesterfield 4 in 2000, and the Clarkson 6 shortly thereafter.
This theater was impressive with all stadium seating and surround sound. A big plus for the mall and for the nearby area. It was closed on May 19, 2023.

All the AMC’s built in the late 2000’s look the same.
It should be noted that one of the screens is an IMAX theater. Not sure how long it’s been there, since I only went to that particular theater for the first time this year. Before then, I had not been to an AMC since the Regency in St Charles closed.
The IMAX Screen was installed in June of 2011. I am an employee at this theatre currently, I’ll get some pictures of the theatre up in the next couple of days :)
March 31st, 2006 grand opening ad in photo section. Kyle, Also the same ad for the theatre in Tustin and as well as the AMC Y & D 24 in Toronto.
Per AMC’s website this is now branded as the AMC Classic Chesterfield 14
Not sure what this will mean for the theater, but the mall as a whole has a new owner, and there are plans for redevelopment.
Purchase of the mall has been completed, but a theater is in the plans released by the new owners, so, there’s not as great of a danger of it closing.
The theatre closed on May 18, 2023 at 10:54 PM.

The last movie I saw there was Avatar: The Way of Water, back in December. Let’s hope they add an IMAX screen to another one of their locations in the area, preferably before Dune Part 2 opens this fall.
