The Chief Drive-In was operated by the Black Hills Amusement Co. in 1955. It was operated by Wheeler & Ukema in the early-1960’s. Capacity was 300 cars. It was still open in 1969.

This drive-in was located east of the airport on what is now the Bridges to Buttes Byway. Look for the large building.

Boxoffice, Nov. 3, 1969: “Wedding bells rang in Gordon, Neb., and Mrs. Billie Wheeler is now Mrs. Dr. H. V. Crum. … Billie is leaving the business, having leased the Pace Theatre and the Chief Drive-In to Rosco and Barbara Briscese, newcomers to the area.”
