Star Theater Aug. 28 1974

The Muwatu Theatre was opened November 7, 1934 with Robert Donat in “The Count of Monte Cristo”. A nice little theatre with interesting interior lighting effects. Closed/demolished in 1975. Showed some controversial films: “The Exorcist”, “Taxi Driver”, and occasional soft porn, i.e. “The Cheerleaders”.

This opened as the Mu-Wa-Tu theatre on November 7th, 1934 and renamed Star in 1946 or 1947. The name came from the three rivers in the county, The MUskingum, WAlhonding and TUscarawas
