Opened as a single screen on April 2, 1982 with Ruth Gordon in “Harold and Maude”. It had the-then new concept of dining, drinking and movies. It had a successful run for many years. On December 6, 1991 it was renamed Silver Screen Café.

By the 90’s this place was twinned and renamed the Silver Screen Cafe.
I am working on a project on “Lost” Charlotte Movie Theaters for UNC-Charlotte where i am a faculty member. Renamed Silver Screen Café on December 6th, 1991. It opened as Cinema ‘n’ Drafthouse on April 2nd, 1982. No 1982 grand opening ad found.
