Blue Loon

Opened in 1994, the Blue Loon was a combination of a movie theater, live concert venue, nightclub and grill and bills itself as "the cultural epicenter of Fairbanks". The Blue Loon screened a mix of independent, art and mainstream Hollywood features. It screened its final movie “Young Frankenstein” on April 25, 2019. The venue closed on May 6, 2019 and it was destroyed by fire on May 16, 2019. It was hoped that renovations could be carried out, but it was demolished.
