Turnpike Drive-In

Located in Opa-locka, FL. One of the most enduring drive-ins in South Florida history, the Turnpike Drive-In opened in 1958 as a single screen. It was later twinned and closed in 1987. It had a change of owners around 1980 and may have been closed for a while.

This apparently closed as a Twin, sometimes showing regular films on one screen and porn on the other.

My Dad Richard Gaine was the projectionist 1969 to 1970. He was killed in a auto accident on his way to work…
